Channel Zero Season 2: No End House rated TV-14 for violence and disturbing images

In Season 2 of the anthology series Channel Zero, a group of teenagers dares to go to a traveling "haunted house" attraction called No End House.  Rumors abound about this mysterious haunted house that shows up without warning in various small towns throughout the country.  It has six rooms inside and supposedly each room is more horrible than the last and the rooms are specifically catered to terrorize whoever enters the room.  It's something along the lines of if someone is scared of ants someone will see/encounter ants only not quite as simple and straightforward as that.  It caters more to internal fears and insecurities that the ants might represent rather than the actual insects.  After the group flees from the No End House they discover to their horror that something has followed them out of the house.  Margot sacrifices herself to save the others and the house disappears without a trace with Margot inside.  Some time later, Jules embarks on a dangerous effort to rescue Margot when the house reappears.

As in the previous post about this show,  this show is based around a short story that was featured on CreepyPasta.  I have not read the original story yet although I would like to.  I found this specific season to be very relatable on a personal level so it wasn't the easiest for me to watch.  Like Margot, I too lost my father as a teenager.  It's a pain that never fully goes away but becomes manageable over time.  I didn't lose my father in the exact same manner as Margot but still.

I would say that the overall theme of this season is Mourning/Healing.  Margot struggles to come to terms with her father's death.  Jules who is Margot's longtime friend struggles to understand Margot's grief and subsequent behavior.  She also struggles with accepting and being there for Margot even though she doesn't relate.  I really liked that aspect of the show as well.  I could appreciate Jules' frustration and irritation with Margot and the subsequent guilt of feeling those feelings.  I could also understand Margot's perspective very well (not just because of my own personal life).  I also shared somewhat in Jules' frustration in not understanding what was Margot's motivation behind her actions.  I couldn't fully relate to Margot's choices which is fine of course because it made Margot more realistic.

All of the actors did well.  I suppose that some would say  "I knew that was going to happen" but you really shouldn't be watching shows and movies with the express purpose of  being able to say "I knew  that was going to happen".   Well done show although I still think that Candle Cove was better.
