Channel Zero Season 1: Candle Cove rated TV-14 for violence and disturbing imagery
Channel Zero Season 1: Candle Cove opens with a disturbed child psychologist Mike Painter who returns to his childhood home to recover from a nervous breakdown. While there, he starts to recall and be affected by aspects of his childhood including mysterious child disappearances/deaths including the loss of his twin brother Eddie. When he starts to observe events that seem to be repeating the pattern from his childhood, he struggles to figure out if he is simply crazy or if something is really going on.
I remember seeing teaser trailers and being initially unsure because the teasers were so mysterious. When I did watch the show I was pleasantly surprised to discover just how good this show was. The cast was all great. The locations that they shot at were beautiful and at times wonderfully eerie. This show has atmospheric horror that gradually morphs into striking visual horror. The show played out well and I think had a good ending.
It seems that each of these seasons have overall themes. I would say that the themes of this one are Redemption/Healing.
